Technological Educational Institute of Athens (TEIA)

TEIA is represented in this project by the Department of Medical Instruments Technology and Medical Instrumentation Laboratory, led by Assistant Professor George Loudos. The Department of Medical Instruments Technology (MIT) belongs to the Faculty of Technological Applications and was established in 1985 and is the only academic institution providing undergraduate education in the field of biomedical engineering in Greece. The field of studies of MIT is the theory and technological applications of biomedical technology.

Pharmidex Pharmaceutical Services Limited (PPH)

PPH is represented by Dr Mo Alavijeh. Pharmidex is a solution provider in brain medicines research. Headquartered in London, Pharmidex specializes in predicting and assessing the ability of compounds to cross the permeability barrier between blood and brain – the Blood-Brain Barrier (BBB) as well as delivery of compounds across the BBB.

University of Brighton (UoB)

UoB is represented in this project by the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences (PABS), Biomedical Materials and Medical Devices Research Group (Group) led by Prof. SV Mikhalovsky, Prof. Andrew Lloyd, Dr Matteo Santin and Dr Gary Phillips. Brighton is one of the top three ‘new’ universities in the UK according to the Times and the Guardian league published in 2005; chemistry is in the top 20 across the country; pharmacy – subjects allied to medicine – in the top 10. PABS, currently with 41 research active academic staff, 3 School Research Fellows, 14 postdoctoral researchers and 129 postgraduate students, has been successful in pursuing multidisciplinary research in areas allied to medicine.
